Phums is an inspiration to all of us. He completed eight AESSEAL correspondence courses in 5 months. Please enjoy reading his article.

Hi my name is Phumelela Griffith Ngcobo. I was born and raised in Amanzimtoti, a small town south of Durban. I matriculated at an awesome high school, George Campbell Technical High School in 2013.

On weekends you would find me in the mall, watching the latest movie with my friends and afterwards we would chill hard. I’m plugged in my local church, Life Church, where I teach Sunday school and provide kids with vital life skills. I’m also involved in the church band where in some occasions I play drums with them. I really enjoy making music that now I’ve bought my own drum set. I try my best to go regularly to the gym but fail to because it’s tiring.
I started working for AESSEAL on the 19th of April 2016 as an office receptionist and stores administrator.

As an office receptionist my duties are to welcome visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone and I respond to their inquiries. I develop and maintain a current and accurate filing system which is very beneficial when certain documentations are needed. I maintain an adequate inventory of office supplies. I also provide invoices and proof of deliveries when requested by clients.

As a stores administrator I maintain a standard of care with all company stock, I assist with the company stock checks in accordance to written instructions. I administer all paperwork and delivery notes as per defined procedures. I prepare products correctly and in time for collection by our driver or courier depending on destination. I execute the receiving and despatching of stock to and from different AESSEAL branches across South Africa and clients.

I really enjoy working for a company that makes a difference and meets expectations in the mechanical seal industry as AESSEAL. I count myself very fortunate to be part of this dynamic team which boasts of its proven track record.

In the few months I’ve worked for AESSEAL I have come to admire their commitment to excellence and the way they strive to be the best in the industry and with customer care. Their passion and professionalism has influenced me to great lengths that I started devoting myself to the courses they provide. Out of the entire courses they offer I decided to do them all because of the manner they portrayed the industry; it really convinced me that the mechanical seal vocation is the most exciting and rewarding career path.

These comprehensive and resourceful courses were brought together by AESSEAL’s highly trained engineers to grow and reward our staff with the fundaments of mechanical seals and they progress to a broader view of the industry.

I find these courses to be time-saving, what could’ve taken months of training I was able to understand in those few moments of tackling them.

Here’s my recommendation for anyone interested in trying some of these courses.

If you’re curious about how the mechanical seal comes into the picture when dealing with pumps then the Basic Pump course will help you understand, this course is fantastic in putting hard to understand functions in a pump into simple terms. You’ll enjoy it.

For those who want to acquire an in-depth and accurate idea of how AESSEAL came about and the prestigious prize it has won over the years; the history of the mechanical seal and the impressive range of cartridge seals then the bronze course is the ideal one to take.

If you are detailed-oriented and you would like to know about the different materials which make up a mechanical seal; how to remove heat from a double mechanical seal, how the mechanical seal performs in different environments and which combinations to use then the silver course is your best choice.

The Gold course is very beneficial for those with little knowledge about Mixers, Agitators and Reactors. This course makes a point that AESSEAL is not limited in product range but has a special seals selection according to clients’ request. The course is filled with case studies which inform you about situations that OEM’s have come across and how the AESSEAL products were able provide the most successful solutions.

The Platinum course deals specifically with the Paper and Pulp industry, the course guides you through the different processes in making pulp and paper and how the mechanical seal comes into the picture. This was a very interesting course and for those who want to embark on this journey provided by this course I guarantee that you’ll enjoy it.

My personal favourite course was the Sales Success course, this course not only highlights the fact that product knowledge is vital but interaction with clients is also important; the course not only guides you on what to look for when meeting up with a client but also warns you of mistakes that people have made without noticing. This course will help you to be effective in the field.

These courses are not the only ones provided by AESSEAL but there are more fantastic and insightful ones that will benefit you.

Many Thanks
Phums

All passed with Distinction!
