A South African power station were experiencing regular outages leading to expensive downtime along with poor emission control and high energy losses. AESSEAL® were able to assist to improve MTBF and create massive savings for the customer.
Upon investigation, it was discovered that the sealing arrangement was not consistent, with various brands and cuts of packing being used. There were also insufficient training programmes in place which all contributed to the frequent downtime, creating huge maintenance costs. An AESSEAL® packing solution was proposed which provided the customer with the latest packing technology specifically tested with power stations.
Since the implementation of the new AES Style Packing, the power station now has better emission control, decreased maintenance costs and energy losses, leading to increased uptime and very high MTBF. Since installation in 2010, the power station has reported no failures.
